FROGS OF SABAH
by Robert F. Inger & Robert B. Stuebing
The idea of this book arose during a field project in Danum Valley in 1987, as we were discussing the relationship between scientific research & public education, & what appeared to be limited interest among students in the study of amphibians. We came to conclusion that a non-academic guide to Sabah frogs might be a means of encouraging such interest particularly if much of the ponderous taxonomic terminology could be eliminated, & photos provided. Fortunately we already possessed a seizeable file of photographs, & found most of the descriptions easily "translatable" from the existing systeamic study of the Sabah amphibia.

by Jan Peter Frahm, Wolfgang Frey, Harald Kurchner & Mario Menzel
Mosses & liverworths (bryophytes) are one of the most characteristic of the tropical montane rain forest. On Mt. Kinabalu, they exhibit the typical aspects of the "mossy forest". Every visitor is faced with a large variety of shapes, sizes & colours. However, in contrast to flowering plants, very little is known about bryophytes. This booklet will give some information on this group of plants with special reference to the species occuring on the Kinabalu Park, particurlarly the common species which are met by the visitor at Poring Hot Springs, the trails around the Park Headquarters & along the summit trail.
