TERRESTRIAL PARK MANAGEMENT

i) Kinabalu Park (World Heritage Site, and Geology Heritage)
ii) Crocker Range Park (biosphere reserve site)
iii) Tawau Hills Park

This Sub-Division is in responsible to manage and conserving Terrestrial Park areas in which based on Plan or Management & Conservation Program that have been prepare.

Function

  1. Coordinating and monitoring the implementation of the Plan or Management and Conservation Parks Terrestrial Program.
  2. Coordinating and monitoring the implementation of the Plan or program relate with the public and Local Community within the Park areas itself.
  3. Prepare and implement countermeasures solutions issues and problems relating to the Management and Conservation Parks Terrestrial.
  4. Prepare and implement countermeasures solutions issues and problems on local communities in the Terrestrial Parks areas.
  5. Preparing draft review of the effectiveness of the Plan or Management and Conservation Parks Program.
  6. To establish and maintain relationships on different levels within the state in relate of environment and management of terrestrial protected areas.
  7. Assess and provide reports on the effectiveness of the implementation of the Plan or Program Management and Terrestrial Conservation Park, and recommending any suggested improvement
  8. Preparing Conservation & Management Plan for Sub Station and stations within Terrestrial Parks.
  9. Provide input of the Physical Development Plan to ensure that the implementation of Park Physical Development Plan is consistent and parallel to the management objectives and Terrestrial Conservation Park. The Inputs is to ensure that such things as the following:
    (a) Conservation of resources and natural features are given priority.
    (b) Structure and design of infrastructure facilities are eco-friendly and compatible with the ecological development locations (ecologically compatible).
    * The suitability of the specification and design of the project.
    * The suitability of the specification and development of the site.
    * To ensure that the sewage system that is used is environmental friendly and easy to treat.
    * Suitability and specifications of the car park and the flow of movement for motor vehicles.
  10. Preparing the Land Use Plan for recommendation to the Parks Terrestrial.
  11. To ensure that all park boundaries Terrestrial maintained.
  12. Maintaining the status of Park in international programs (ie, UNESCO) as World Heritage Site, Global Geopark Network, and Man and Biosphere Reserve.
